Radio City Music Hall is not only a national landmark but also an integral part of the heart and soul of New York City. Known as "The Showplace of the Nation, " it was the first building in the Rockefeller Complex and is the largest indoor theater in the world. The legendary venue has played host to many of the biggest names in music, including Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Jason Mraz, Alicia Keys, Dave Matthews Band, Kelly Clarkson, Aretha Franklin and Paul Simon, as well as a ten-night stand by comedian Dave Chappelle, and some of the country's most exciting entertainment events, including the MTV VMAs, the Tony Awards, the Daytime Emmy Awards and NBC's "America's Got Talent."
Each year, Radio City is the home of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, starring the Rockettes, which was first performed in December of 1933. The Radio City Christmas Spectacular is America's #1 holiday production with more than one million people attending the beloved holiday theatrical annually. In spring 2015, the New York Spring Spectacular (since re-named the Rockettes New York Spectacular) starring the Rockettes debuted at the Music Hall. Created by an unprecedented Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning team for Radio City Music Hall, the New York Spring Spectacular is a dazzling musical celebration about the energy, places, people, passion and promise that make New York City spectacular.
Named "Venue of the Decade" by Billboard Magazine for achieving the highest box office scores of venues worldwide in its class, Radio City Music Hall has received critical acclaim over the years. In 2015, Billboard ranked Radio City the highest-grossing entertainment venue of its size in the world based on the magazines mid-year rankings. Additionally, in 2014, Pollstar ranked Radio City number one in its year-end rankings of the Top Theatre Venues in the country.
